Sensor under battery to what?
I took my battery out because im moving my cold air to go underneath it, and i found a lone sensor not connected to anything. What could it possibly go to? I discovered my check engine light is on, which it hasnt EVER been on since 1999. Anyone know what this is for? Here's some pics.

The battery temperature sensor is used to determine the battery temperature. This temperature data, along with data from monitored line voltage, is used by the PCM to vary the battery charging rate. System voltage will be higher at colder temperatures and is gradually reduced at warmer temperatures.

That's interesting, I really thought it was just there for looks honestly. But it makes sense now
I didn't figure temperature would really affect a batterie's performance, but I learn something new everyday on here.
