Default FOAM IN THE COOLANT

I changed out that pain in the *** radiator last night and filled it with new 50/50 premix fluid and through in a bottle of a coolant additive for good measure. I was debating on changing out the thermostat but since I had it tore down I went ahead and did it and thank God i did because the one that was in there had broken apart. The bottom part was in the neck the spring was on top if it and was holding up the " Flying Saucer" looking top. When everything was buttoned up and filled I started the car to get the air bubbles however instead I got a bunch of little ones almost looking like bubble bath. Is this normal or could it be from the additive? Also it took a while for the thermostat to open up as a matter of fact the fans came on and the top rad hose was still cool to the touch.

Default RE: FOAM IN THE COOLANT

It could be the additive, but usually when you get lots of little bubbles, it means the water pump is bad.
