Default 200hp!!

iam looking to try to pull 200hp out of my sohc mtx is that a reasonable goal and what kindda mods would i need i plan on keeping n/a for now due to $$$$ or if i could find a cheap turbo i would put it on but seems a bit out of reach right now so any help would be great by the way its bone stock right now

If you wanted to do it N/A look at about 12,000 bucks only 2 people have done it to my knolwedge.

If force indution is your pill you can do it with a hahn racecraft turbo kit. on a stock block. and hell that will do you for 250hp.

I am selling a turbo and intercooler setup right now for just $250! Easy way for cheap hp.

if you build the motor from the ground up $2000-2500 would do 200hp range.

About $1,000 in the Rods and pistons $30 to mill the head you get about 12-1 compression, 24lb injectors $150 full performance balance good for 5hp or more. 60mm trottlebody good for another 5hp $200 cranesohc cam good for about 12-15hp (so i've head) port your head and intake or make homemade intake heard very bad things about the indy intake.

re-read the post... there has only been 2 guys that have got to 200+hp NAwith a sohc. and both have spent above 10000 bucks to get it there. this is no turbo no supercharger no spray.

yea serisuly

wen u only have 132 to start, getting to 200 to just the crank
is going to be costly
add pcm full exhaust tb intake cams basic bolt on **** might give u 20-25 all together
start doing metal work
porting polishing boring
thats expensive and time consuming
and still wont give u 200 hp

i refuse to believe $10,000 thats Ricer math. I guess you have't read neons .org 200hp sohc and dohcrecipe for only $2500-$3000.

if you spend $10,000 for 200hpyou should probably insert a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger. I'd being throwing a v8 in the car first before spending that much. The easiest way would be to start with a magnum sohc 150hp halfway there

ONCE AGAIN I WOULD LIKE YOU TO RE-READ THIS POST.
AND THEN RE-READ THE ORGS 200HP RECIPE.

This post pertains to the 2.0 SOHC
The orgs 200hp recipe pertains to the 2.4 DOHC...

HUGE DIFFERENCE...

GO to the org and pm a guy named "mookinator" he will tell you what he spent...

um, actually, doing a performance build from Modern for NA will give you around 200 at the crank. plus an exhaust and intake obviously. oh and the Mopar PCM.

but turboing would be A LOT cheaper IMO
