Red face 2.4 engine swaps

Allright I have a different comment about swaps.
Help me here please.
Starting off I have a 1992 dodge aeromate aluminum small box van that I like very well,BUT I don't like the automatic transmission that bolts to the 3.3-V6
engine.
Its an all dodge drive front to back and front wheel drive.
Now what I would really like to do is find a standard shift 5 speed stransmission that will bolt to my 3.3 .
I have looked hell and high water for one and can't find one,so I bought a 1989 dodge shadow with a 2.5 turbo engine and I don't care for the 2.5,so
another option is to eather swap it to a 2.4 or find another shadow with a 3.0
- V6 with a standard shift transmission and swap both the engine and transmission wireing and all.
Point is I am sick of electronic transmissions that this old back yard mechanic cannot fix.
Give me a stick shift anytime with points/carband bolt on fuel pump and I am happy.
Also I know that chrysler has a 2.5 diesel in the UK that gets 65 MPG?why not the US????????
Any ideas?? thanks for listening

Default advice needed

hi my name is chris, and im goin to attempt a 2.4 swap from a srt-4 to 98' 2.0 neon. a couple peolpe have told me to unbolt the subframes and switch them. one problem that i have with that thought is that the srt has been in a wreck and the frame may be a little bent.i was wondering what you thought about it. also id like to add that ive never done a swap before.

Talking can a 2.4l dohc head work on a 2.0l sohc block?

i was wondering if a 2.4 dohc head would bolt up to a 2.0 sohc block with any problems? i was just wondering because i have my old block of my neon and i just got a free dohc 2.4l head and i was going to put the motor together for boost.

Not without extensive work.

The 2.4 head (given it's the appropriate year) is the same as the 2.0 head. The difference between the engines is in the blocks.

Default balancing shaft and cutting chain

I don't understand the part about the balance shaft, and cutting the chain. Here is the paragraph I don't understand.

Start off buy cutting the chain, using what ever you have handy, I used a Dremal tool with a cut off wheel.

Now you have 2 options at this point. You can leave it how it is and you will regain the power lost by the chain slowing the crank down or if you’re serious about power you can do a few more steps and completely remove the balance shafts and lose some weight. HOWEVER YOU WILL HAVE TO SPEND 25 MORE CENTS AT ACE’S IF YOU DO DECIDE TO REMOVE THEM COMPLETELY. If you just want to regain the power and not remove them completely stop here.

Because the engine uses a balance shaft, by eliminating the balance shaft, you have less parasitic power loss because the engine isn't needing to turn the shafts. But really it's pretty insignificant
