got a new haedunit and had the same problem as before when installing it, the kit dosnt fit the radio and the car even tho it says 95-00 neon on it, its one of thoes walmart GM kits....any suggestins on getting it in?
if your talking about the plastic piece you do realize you have to break off some tabs in certain places for perfect fitment seeing as its a universal for a variety of vehicles
yeah i do, i got it to fit into the car but the problem is that it does not fit over the headunit, the headunit is still very loose so the kid does not help out that much, like the new headunit is small and the hole from the old one is huge idk how to explain it ill take pics
Yea, the stock stereo is a monster, and aftermarket ones are going to be the same width, just not nearly as tall. Hence the reason you get the mounting kit.
do u have the cage that goes around the cd player its self? i didnt have on on my cdplayer and it was loose in the kit i had.. found a cage and it was tight like it should.. just what i thot might b ur problem.
Yea, that cage is sort of an essential part. Plus, since theres no way to mount the back of the deck in place, you have to fold up the tabs on that cage so it isn't all floppy.
Ive had the same issue. What you could do is get a long nut and a threaded rod to made the bolt longer, then drill a hole way the f--- back in there, and that would provide some support. As far as a kit for it, I'm not aware of one.
got a new one yesterday at boomer mcclouds, its made special for neon, it fits so nice, it has support plastic fingers that go all the way down so that the radio is steady and dosnt go up or down(tilt) the kit ran me 15 at boomers and is the best thing ever, the walmart GM mounting kit is the biggest p.o.s mounting kit for a neon.
