New issue, woohoo. Doesn't seem to be too pressing but is unnerving nonetheless. This only started this morning BTW. When I accelerate from a stop, I hear & feel a muffled 'thunk' sound. Sometimes if I accelerate REAL slow, it doesn't happen, and it only happens when I accelerate from a complete stop. I should mention that my car is a standard. I should also mention that since last night I have been hearing odd clicks, squeals & thunks from my rear drum brakes. So I dunno what this could be. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like you need some new back brakes. Maybe a wheel cylinder. My local midas does free brake inspections. Comes in handy. Does it feel like its your back brakes sticking?

 

Does the *thunk* sound come from the front? I had to change my bobble strut cause it was done, everytime I accelerated you could here a thunk noise. when you accelerate hard the engine moves from all the torque.
as for those noises comin from the back, do you have a rear sway bars?
could be as simple as a rear drum service.
