Default turbo help

so i'm trying to find out what size turbo i need, as i don't want to overspin the turbo when i hit nitrous

i want to be running 300 horse (flywheel) and between 50 and 200 shot of nitrous (i'll be using a zex direct port nitrous)
what i'm having trouble with is finding a turbo that fits these needs, as i figure out requirements using just the horsepower figures (about 450 for calculations) and it gives me a Pressure Ratio of 3.59992 with 53.625 lbs/min of air at 7500 rpm redline (i'll be using megasquirt so i can run that just fine) and 33.9625 lbs/min air at 5500 rpm

i haven't been able to find many turbo's that run up to 3.5 without having 50-55 lbs/min near the left line(surge line)

any help? any websites i could check out that would have calculations for planning in nitrous with turbo?

Well personally i would have to say, get a big turbo. t3-t4 odviously, and go with an aftermarket trim (cold side) but how i personaly am going to run my nitrous on my car when i get to that point, is only going to help spool the turbo faster.. and not top end.. u can run this way off ms, and from what i hear it is not to hard to do.... i will find out in the near future though, people have done it but i dont think it has been done on neons running ms... (or atleast i have not found anyone that has) go look on the honda sights... (i know kinda gay but it will get u a starting point) i do not have the sight here becuasae i am at work, if i think about it tonight i will give it to u...

if u are sparying the car only at WOT then u may have a hard time NOT overspinning the turbo and essentually burning it up....i know i did not give u specifics on what turbo will work and what one wont... but i hope i helped alittle................ and good luck

Do a little research on a garrett gt28rs. That's what all the audi/v-dub guys put on their 1.8t's. Most of those guys don't run nos though, so just do some research.

so i was thinking about it today... and nitrous wouldn't be going through the intake side, just the exhaust side

so i'm wondering, are there any websites that anyone knows of that have formulas for figuring out turbo size including the nitrous? cuz i'm talking about 50-200 shot of nitrous

how much boost do you want to run?

size shouldent matter, you just have to turn the nos off when you reach your target boost pressure.

it's not so much boost, it's lbs of air per minute that i need, and for what i'm looking at total (about 450 hp full boost and full nitrous) i would need about 45-55 somewhere in that range. lots of turbos are capable of pushing that, but not at the 3.5 pressure ratio that i'm lookin at. that's where the question comes in, how much extra room would i need in the turbo scale to cover me well without a lot of lag for no nitrous times when i plan on running 300 hp, and still have enough to cover 300hp turbo and the extra nitrous air

just get the gt35r and be happy... with a good MS tune guys have got 507hp with the turbo alone on a srt-4 internalled 2.4... and the turbo still had plenty of room there rated at like right around 650... and if you get a good ram horn turbo manifold like rt ernie makes you should be at full boost with a gt35r at 3500rpm... granted this is on a 2.4 so I really wouldent care to guess on the 2.0...
