Default Timing belt interference? Need advise

I am just getting my engine (SOHC) back together after a timing/head gasket replace, and I have interfearance with my timing belt. The belt is pinched (rubbing) between the cam gear and the top of the timing belt housing where the front cover snaps into place. The water pump, idler pully and bracket and the housing bolts are installed and the cover is in place.

Has anyone had to mod their case to fit a timing belt? Is there something wrong with the set up? I was just going to dremel out the interference, but I don't want to put a band-aid over the wound.

Thanks

Something isn't lined up correctly then.

I will try and post a pic tonight after work. The cover lined up very well though. The two screws behind the cam gear went in without problem, and the cover slipped into place without issue or interfearance around the water pump and the tensioner bearing.

Obvioiusly I know that there is a problem somewhere with something, I do appreciate your input on the matter. The belt looks a little thicker than I am used to, and I will try to include it in the pic tonight.
