Default Air Conditioning Part

Ok so on to the next problem ... the a/c does not work in my Neon. I bought it this way ... A/C is not a huge deal to me, but I just figured I would try to fix it if I could do it cheaply. So I figured I would buy some of the R134a and charge it up to see how bad the leak was. Well as I put the refrigerant in, the condensor started up so at least I know that works. Then the oil/refrigerant started spooging out of this other part that I have no idea what it is. So it looks like I found my leak ...

Can someone please tell me what this part is, and does anyone know if it can be replaced?

Thanks for any help!!

Thanks 12 volt ... so does anyone know if I can replace that part alone ... or even how much it might cost to have replaced? I know practically nothing about A/C.

the only leak that I saw was from the top of that part ... I was actually thinking of maybe coating it in JBWeld to see if I could seal the leak ... hmmmm I dunno it doesnt look too hard to replace, just a few bolts.

ok thanks for the advice ... I won't try to seal it as I'd like to avoid an explosion, haha. I am going to a junkyard after work to buy a radio so I will see if they have one there ... but if you end up having one, please let me know and I would be willing to buy it from you. Thanks!

hmmm thats not where I recharged it .. .maybe that was my mistake? It said on the can to use the black cap on the thicker tube ... so I used the one a little bit further back ... did I use the wrong one? Please advise ... if I did use the right one and this is indeed a link then I will buy your extra part 12 volt.

yeah you should have recharged it form the high side whitch is the bigger fitting on the dryer.

anouther thing is when you service the system with new parts you have to pull a vacume onit before you recharge it.

this should help
