fastest 1/4 mile time in a 1st Gen
so i did a forum search and couldnt find anything
so what is the fastet 1/4 mile time youve heard of in a 2.0 or 2.4 neon.. (not anything crazy like a v8 neon or v6) im talking 4 banger
so what is the fastest time youve heard of and what was done to the car...

In qualifying, Crawford's Neon SRT4 (above) blasted an eye-opening 8.575 at 163.33 mph; its previous best was a 9.01 during testing. Crawford is confident that the team has figured out the transmission setup, and he is expecting 8.4-second time slips soon. Mohler's Neon, which was completely reengineered during the off-season, ran 10.617 and 10.594 (its best time ever) to take the second qualifying spot Both runs came despite a nagging electrical problem that cut power off the line. *** is readying a new engine with better rod ratios for the English-- town event that should send the Neon into nine-second territory.
