Default Odd Oil Leak Somewhere???

Ok guys, I did a search but didn't really find anything in the area I am looking for!! I have recently started having an oil leak, When I first noticed it is when I would come to a stop I would see some smoke coming from the cowl, but if I had the air on I could smell burning oil in the car. Ok, now here is where I will try to explain where I am finding theoil. While standing at the drivers fender and look on the passengers side of the master cylinder, through the lines on the master cylinder and (I guess it would be the brake proportioning valves?!?!) You should be able to see what I am taking as the tranny bellhousing, there is a small puddle of oil on it, and there is oil on that side and the back of the engine. I reached in and wiped all the oil from the puddle on the bellhousing yesterday andthis evening I look in and see another small puddle of oil there.I have had nor can I find any oil in the coolant so I am thinking it is not the head gasket, and I can see most of the valve cover gasket(with the aid of a mirror) and can't see any tell-tell signs of oil leaking there, so any body ever had this problem or have any suggestions before I take it to a garage after the holiday????? There is also oil on the underside of the car and oil on the ground under the car, it seems to be going through about a quart of oil every 2 weeks or so!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS?!?!?!?!?!

Take the car to a car wash and use the degreaser/tire cleaner in the engine compartment to get it all spick and span. Take it out and drive it a little to get the oil leaking again and look for its path. That way you dont confuse it with some strange accumulated gunk or other collected under the hood road goodies.
