RE: oh no....
helpful tidbit from org "the FSM doesn't show any sealant around the outside of the oil filter passages. The inside passage has an O ring, but the outside passage is just metal on metal. If you don't put any sealant around the outside of these, it will leak."
you dont want to go too crazy with the sealant, if there is too much stuff between theBP your going to open up the bearing tolerances.

RE: oh no....
wow. this sucks beyond all comprehension. i dont have the lift to pull the engine again. and im gonna have to rent a puller and pull everything off to get to oil pump to unbolt it from the block so the bedplate will come down - the theres the crank. i cant trust the transmission hold it in place. wtf am i gonna do[>:]

so heres what im gonna do. drain the fluids - get the lift back, get the puller. pull the entire engine w/ manifolds and transmission together. pull the transmission off and fix the TOB. mount the engine to the stand and flip it upside down. then pull the pan and filter adapter- then unbolt the bed plate. clean the face and re-seal it with permatex. then reverse. if theres an easier way someone tell me - cuz i dont think there is. i literally can not believe this garbage.
