power steering

my buddy has a 97 gs-t eclipse...and last night his ps went out...no CEL but the battery light is stay on...what could cause the ps to go out and the battery light to stay on?

no not yet...will tell him to do it 2morrow...it was odd though car was running fine then...turned it on made a POP noise then ps went out

Broke his belt. Battery light is on because the belt broke. No ps because the belt broke.

No alternator belt=about 1 hour at most of driving with no asseccories before the battery dies. Excuse my spelling I am tired good night.l

thanks....it was dark when we were looking it and i was drunk...i thought i saw the belt loose
