hey guys. my 96 dohc seems to be burnin oil pretty bad. i know its not leaking cuz i wuz just underneath it all night doin prothane inserts. i got a buddy that will do a leak down for $70 but i wuz wonderin if any1 had any thoughts.

p.s. its not the head gasket. im positive.

 

my old neon used to burn a quartof oil every 2 tanks of gas.

 

my new neon burns oil pretty good, but it also has some piston slap in the #4 cylinder....so it could use new rings

 

Sometimes the cam seal and main seals will leak oil without notice because they are both covered. But i have also had neons that burn oil. I would usually put 1 quart in a week when my cam seal and main seal had a small leak. I also only put one quartin a week for the motor that burned the oil.
