Default Need a new muffler, what to get?

After blowing my 3A Racing muffler packing all over the freeway, I now need a new muffler. I dont have the geek to buy the Flowmaster catback or anything else thats going to be over around $150. A simple clamp on high flow muffler is all Im looking for. Straight through design. Any suggestions? Preferable one that has either a setup sans fiberglass, or guaranteed not to blow out.

magnaflow handle a crap load of heat. whn i was looking for one the trustworthys told me to get a camaro muffler. too late but thats what they told me.

i ordered my magnaflow muffler through a place called keyston perf. i wanted it round so i could put it in the exhaust tunnels in case i decided to do side exhaust. so they sold me a "muffler" that had a 3" outside diameter, 2.5" core, and 2.25" pipe in and outs.

turns out its just a resonator. so i have header to piping to resonator. and no a/c right now. so i have to drive around listening to every bit of noise my car has to offer with a slightly deeper tone. im use to it now but at first i could barely stand it.

If you want a cheap muffler. Go ebay. I bought a carbon fiber one. It looks goos and is lasting. I paif 40 shipped for it. There are cheaper ones also.

I think I found one on Ebay that im going to get. It has some sort of ceramic fiber insulation. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m32. Is it the heat that blows them apart? Or is it from the pressure? Or do the welds inside break apart to allow the insulation to get loose?

Damn, tought muffler! Mine lasted three years with the stock exhaust setup (cat, manifold), but within the first 10 minutes of straight header use it was toast.

its the heat with a glasspack that uses fiberglass, in motocross bikes we repack the mufflers every 5 races, cause you actually lose flow and power when its blown out

sounds like you got it covered with the ceramic packing
