Default wheel/tire question

Im looking at some 17x7 40mm+ rims and i have some 215/40/17 tires i was wondering if ill have any issues with rubbing and what not, my car is lowered about 1.75"

what is the widest wheel/tire that can fit with stock suspension ? i tried to put some sebring rims (16's i forgot the width of tire) on mine and they hit the springs, they didnt seem very wide

i have 215/40/17's on mine and i think my tire is 8 inches wide something close...i will measure today if you want

ive got almost a 2 inch drop and im runnin 215/40r17's. i only get problems on big bumps (rubbing fender) or when i crank the wheel all the way around (plastic fender wall) otherwise i dont have any issues
