Cold air intakes

I was wondering what brands of CAI you all are running and how easy they were to install, cause looking under the hood of my 96, there doesn't seem to be a lot of room to run a true CAI. I'm looking into an aftermarket hood as well, does anyone make one that has a functional scoop that can funnel air to the stock plastic? All input is appreciated.

Most popular cai's are the ones that go in front of the motor not behind it. People use the 3.0 chrylser van intake neck to custom make a cai that goes under the battery. I always relocate the battery and use a short ram one. A name brand cai to buy would be the ice man. Its the only one that goes in the front. They are rare and not cheap. You will also need the battery tray with it or mod yours..

Dust Devil, it depends on what you want.
Power, or looks
The aem/k&n are both hot air intakes, taking air directly above the header
the stock is a warm air intake, as it takes air from the front of the engine compartment but passes over the header
the iceman/kirk/3.0 custom cai are true cold air intakes, taking it from below the battery tray
just for comparrisons, the aem/K&N air temps read 170 degrees at the filter, the air temps inside the stock airbox by the filter reads 155 degrees, and the temps at the iceman/kirk/3.0 custom cai reads 90 degrees at the filter
this is on a 70 degree day, during freeway driving, during city driving the first 2 numbers would be significantly higher, with the last number for the true cai being slightly higher
with the air temps reading higher for the aem/k&n, you might think stock would make more, however the reason the aem/k&n makes more power is because it flows more air, where the true cai's flow the same air as the aem/k&n just with colder air
