Default New muffler

Just installed a Lawson Xtreme Performance muffler on my Neon. Its supposed to be packed with some sort of ceramic insulation to help keep it from burning up. Turns out in my last muffler the baffle inside rusted out and that is what let all of the fiberglass out. This new one has a nice deep tone at idle and basic driving, but gets louder than hell when I go wot. Only one complaint, their 2 1/4" must be different than my 2 1/4". It was a bit larger in diameter than my exhaust pipe.

that would be correct tho....if its 2 1/4" OD pipe coming off our cars, then you need a 2 1/4" ID muffler to slip over the top of that....

oh and where did you buy the muffler from? Im in the market for a new one, trying o decide what i want...

The inside dimension listed on Ebay and also on the box both say 2 1/4" ID. Oh well, its on there now. Chenzo, if you go down the page a few or look at some of my past posts, ive got the link to the exact acution I used to get the muffler. Its cheaper through the Ebay store than going to Lawsons actual website.

It's tail pipes not rocket parts. There is going to be slop. I have a Walker 2 1/3 tail pipe kit that I'm going to mate to a Flo-Master. I'm taking the pipe to a muffler shop to have it expanded so it fits better. The inlet tube on the Flo-Master is a heavy gauge that won't crush to easy.
