Is that just another resistor in a plastic case?

Yea but how does it hook up. It says its a programmable ecu flasher or something? Can you actually buy real ecu flashers? I didnt think you could do anything to the stock ecu.

no one makes an aftermarket pcm for neons. the af/x and the mopar unit are re-programmed stock units. dealerships can even make changes to the pcm. so i would imagine there is a tool out there for re-programming it. i would also imagine it would be expensive as hell for the software alone.

as for the ebay part... we wouldnt be spending 200+ for pcms if you could do the same stuff with that thing. i'm going to do some kicking around to see what the dealership acutally uses to reprogram the cars and see if there isn't an obd solution. pcms are expensive and no one makes a turbo pcm for neons. i cant believe how many of us are modding these cars.

There was talk of this on org a few months back. Those that have attempted to reprogram have been asked/threatened by Dodge directly to not alter their pcm. Odd, seeing as many in the Turbo dodge world do it quite often. Of course it can be changed. It is just a computer.

wonder what dodge even cares? if we blow the cars up - their ours to begin with. i think you'd have to get some pretty specific software to do it. to get a baseline of what the car is doing as is. getting and af/x on ebay is probably the best solution. because it can "see" mods as they go on the car and re-adjust itself to provide the best tuning it sees fit.

Not as complex you would think. It is a 10+ year old computer after all. Turbo dodge owners are always remapping and customizing their engine management systems. Why neon got the "stop that" from dodge is beyond me. And it costs them about $30 -$40 to do it. How much is MS again?

There are different prices for MS depending on what you want it to do. But anywhere from $500 on up...

I was being facetious. MS prices vary depending on how much of your car you want to control. To get it all for under $75 is where we should be.
