Default I am new here! 97 SOHC 2.0L CAI help!

Hey everybody! I am new here and I just purchased this off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Neon-95-96-97-98-...QQcmdZViewItem

I know, I know, its not the greatest intake but I am considering this cheaper one as a test run, as long as I can install it and it works decent I will eventually step it up to a better one.

Now I have been reading the various posts on this forum and I was wondering if there was a step by step way to installing this intake. I know that most people in my situation put the battery in the trunk. I would rather not do that if at all possible. I also read about the iceman intake and how hard/expensive it is to find. So if I could get some help (pictures preffered ) with an install, or direct me one online that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance from a happy new Neon owner!

If you bought that cai from ebay you dont need to move your battery. Thats known as a hot air intake because it goes back behind the engine. The ebay one is a direct bolt on. Just remove your stock one and bolt it up. Sometimes they require you to use a breather filter on your valve gasket cover. The iceman goes down in front of the engine like the home made 3.0 ones. The ebay on is a waste of money. You should just strap a cone filter to the stock air intake tube and call it a day.

Here is just the filter strapped to the stock tube. This is how the ebay one will kind of be.

well do you forsee anyone else bidding on it? a lot of sellers will list a bunch of the same items at a buy it now price and a bid price. so you can usualy get them cheap by using the bid assistant and place the minimum bid on all of the products.
thats how i got my sthil saw so cheap. they usualy go for about 250+ i got mine for 190. its all in how you bid.

Yeah thats about how much I paid for it $32 (Altogether). I am slowly working on bringing it up to a more respectable car. The car was given to me as a gift from a family friend so i am working on making it decent!

I got one on my neon I like it works better than stock took me about a half hour to install you may have to trim the plastic intake piece on the inside of the hood to keep it from rubbing
