Default Bored Throttle Body

I was wondering if it was worth the money to get my throttle body bored? How much power would I gain? What is the usual throttle body bored to 55mm?

Yeah they are all over the place pretty cheap. That way you have your car and don't have to wait for the machine work.

I was looking at the TB's on modern performance and I was wondering if I bought the 60mm one would I have to bore out my manifold too or would it be just fine?

You don't have to bore it, but it will help, have it extrude honed too.

What???????? IF you don't do engine mods, you will lose some torque, but gain on in the high rmp's. It has no effect on the timing what so ever, please check your info before posting. On top of that if it did throw it off a little, the PCM can adjust up to 10 degrees plus or minus if I am correct.

I just put on the MP 55 polished TB and it did NOTHING to my timing, that I can see, but it DID make the car run a whole lot better; I would guess the post about 5-7 HP gain is pretty close to correct; not earth shaking, but defintiely worth the priceof an easy mod....

Installing a cold air intake will really help you gain more performance from that bored throttle body. I personally think the 60 mm tb is a little too big unless you are going turbo. I know a couple of people with older Neons that installed those and lost a lot of bottom end power. I think the 55 mm in most cases is a good choice.

I have an automatic tranny tho. I was told they already were 52mm if this is correct wouln't the 60mm make more since the manual is only 49mm stock?
