I own a 95 plymouth neon sohc mt and my speedo was intermittent for awhile and now has worked for months. Ive replaced the speedometer and I have gone through 4 clusters. I searched and read up on the cluster soldering repair but I don't think my luck was that bad that all 4 were bad, I think it is another problem, on the wiring diagram it shows the speed sensor splits and goes seperate ways to the pcm and cluster, I can not find where they split but I tested for continuity along the wires and had continuity from speed sensor to that big under hood connector but no continuity from the connector to the pcm or cluster pin, where do they split? maybe a bad connector at the split? I need help I'm lost now.

On the top on the tranny there is a plug with I think 2 wires. Towards the back. Thats your speed sensor. Sometimes the plug will get water in it or come lose from a fault clip. When I had my first neon I had the same issue. At the time I didnt know much about neons. The kid I bought it from just showed me how to shake that wire and play with until and it worked. Hope that helps.
