I need help with my Neon money pit.
Hello everyone.
I have finally beat my cooling issues atlast! Now the car surges and generally runs crappy and I have a check engine light.
the codes I get are 12 (I read that that is kinda normal) and 24. This isn't the first time I have had these codes pop up. The first time I simply removed all the corrosion form the battery leads and reset the computer and like magic the car ran fine for about 200 miles. Well the codes are back and I realy don't know what to do about them because I hate throwing money at a probelem that I'm not sure about. I'm leaning towards changing the TPS. What do you all think?
Thanks

Don't change the TPS just yet.
If you can get a scanner and get me the actual diagnostic code I can help you. I'm looking for a code that is either a; P0121, P0122, P0123, or P1295. Otherwise your going to have to use a multimeter to check to see if you're getting voltage to and from the TPS and the resistance range throughout the throttle movement.
