Default I need help with my Neon money pit.

Hello everyone.

I have finally beat my cooling issues atlast! Now the car surges and generally runs crappy and I have a check engine light. the codes I get are 12 (I read that that is kinda normal) and 24. This isn't the first time I have had these codes pop up. The first time I simply removed all the corrosion form the battery leads and reset the computer and like magic the car ran fine for about 200 miles. Well the codes are back and I realy don't know what to do about them because I hate throwing money at a probelem that I'm not sure about. I'm leaning towards changing the TPS. What do you all think?

Thanks

Don't change the TPS just yet.
If you can get a scanner and get me the actual diagnostic code I can help you. I'm looking for a code that is either a; P0121, P0122, P0123, or P1295. Otherwise your going to have to use a multimeter to check to see if you're getting voltage to and from the TPS and the resistance range throughout the throttle movement.

just go to Autozone and they can read the code and get you the Pxxxx code. that is unless your car is a 95.

You should be able to pull a code even if it is a '95.
