As we all know, in 1st gens there is an e-brake in the center console between the seats & a lot of wasted space underneath it. In the 2nd gens, This wasted space was replaced by a lovely cup holder & a relocated e-brake. Having had such a cup holder for 3 years in my 2 previous Neons, I'm spoiled & I'm dying to have it back. My drinks barely fit in my existing cup holders & I refuse to use one of those ghetto window-hanging abortions that they sell at Wal-mart, auto zone, etc. I'm in the middle of a complete interior renovation anyway, and I have this zany idea to replace my center console with one out of a 2nd gen Neon. BUT- this will require me to relocate the e-brake, obviously, which is something I am more than willing to do but NOT something I'm willing to just 'wing it' with & take a chance of breaking stuff.

My question is- can this be done? Has anyone done it, and how did you do it? Thanks in advance.
