ok .. so after i fixed my axle that broke at the track 2 weeks ago i got in the car and took it for a test drive... i made it like half mile down the road and couldnt get into gear. ... i had no peddal pressure in the clutch at all harldy.. now im pretty sure that it something to do with ther cable.

my question is were in the hell can i get a new or used clutch cable????? part stores here cant get it and the junk yard just crushed all the neons there so i couldnt get it there either... and there were like 4 of them there to .. pissed me off so bad... anyway enough rambling i need this ASAP before wednesday so i can hit the track. if you guys have any laying around ill buy it if you can overnite it

 

i have one from my 95, still on the car. i can get a quote to you tomorrow when i get to work for shipping, and you could do a paypal thing to my shop and i could ship it out tomorrow afternoon.

............. so after i called b+h yesterday and they told me they had a bunch of neons and some were manual i went the hour drive to them. i get there and look around and didnt even find a neon for 40 min. however all the ones i found were automatci except for one 2nd gen with nothing but the shell of the car. so i said owel ill go next door to paridise. the guy there says yea im showing that i have 2 manuals in the car so they should have cables.. ok kool rite? WRONG.. he says he wouldnt even charge me for ther part because its just a cable but it will be 50 dollars just to pull it off the car. WTF... i told the guy i can pull it it about 2 min with a pair of pliers and he was like i gota get 50 dollars or it aint worth my time to even walk out there. so i told he ill go somewere else bacause im not tryin to get takin advantage of by some dude that dont probly even know what a clutch cable is. i guess he thought hey lets make a dollar on these kids but what he doesnt know is that me and my friend arent dumb and we know what we are talkin about. he wouldnt even let me go get it myself.. hell i woulda paid him 25-30 even just for somebody to get it but 50 just for him to see if it was there then pull it ill go elsewere. when i told him the part i wanted he was like " wats the new price of the cable" i was like idk and he was like well i want 50 dollars then

Have you had a look at the bushings?

 

when junk yards ask me what a new price of a part is i usually just tell them $20...if they know whats going on then they will call you on it, but if not, then thats your best bet

if you still cant find 1 right away then let me know..i have 1 sitting in the shed, but i no longer have a 5-speed car
