Default oil/fuel mix in intake

I am doing a swap and both engines have a large build up of what appears to be oil in the intake. I can move the butterfly and wipe all kinds of oil out of the intake with my fingers. The old engine has 200k and the one i am installing has 90k. Is this normal and if so how can you clean it?

you probally just need to replace the pcv valve...
the easiest way to clean the oil out would be to remove the intake and spray it out with brake cleaner

dohc cars? also check the breather on the valve cover. see if there is buildup around the outside of the vac line that runs from the valve cover to the base air intake tube where it meets the tb. they can suck oil from there. there is a part from dodge - a restrictor or something - that stops it from happening. or you can do what most ppl do and remove the line and add a small breather filter. in rare instances the valve cover may blow oil from that filter though.... like say if you burn a hole in a piston...
