Thumbs up FS: 98 ACR $1200 (read description please!)

I regretfully must part with my beloved Neon. I figured you folks should be the first to have the option to buy it.

Here's the skinny:

1998 ACR Sedan

Vitals:

Location: Seattle, WA (Wedgewood 98125)
Color: Blue
Miles: 170k
Body Cond: Great (one small reparable rust spot)
Motor Cond: Poor
Tires: Brand New Les Schwab
Transmission: Manual (5-speed)

Mods:

Wheels: 16" aftermarket good condition
Suspension: -Fully adjustable Koni struts (about 20-25k miles on these)
-Camber adjustment
-Plastic bushings (Urethane)
Hitch: 1" uhaul hitch welded on
Shifter: Shifter bushings kit (shifts awesome)
Roof: Stock Roof Rack
Motor: -Recently rebuilt block (the previous owner told me this)
-New spark plugs (brand spanking new)
-Brand new camshaft sensor (also brand spanking new)

Issues:

- Won't start. The motor turns but won't turn over. Please PM me for further details i've tried a number of things, but not EVERYTHING.

- Small rust spot on the right rear fender, very small, easy to repair.

- Trunk lock cylinder failure, can't get into the trunk.

- Small crack in bottom right corner of the windshield (hit by a rock on the highway)

- Valve cover gasket needs to be replaced

- AC works very slowly if at all (I never used it really)

- Motor just really needs some help from someone who knows what to do with it.

- The shifter **** can slide right off the stick...pretty hilarious in turn 3 ;-)

Other notes:

Look, the truth is this car was my favorite car I've ever owned, I know, it's just a neon. But this thing is a blast to drive. It was driven in Autocross for 2 seasons, BEFORE the struts and wheels and bushings were added. After the mods, the car made it out only once to the track. The owner had to sell it for something more family friendly. (It's a bit of a bumpy ride cause of how stiff the suspension is) I'm telling you this neon handles like a go-cart. I've had numerous friends scoff until they let me scare the pants off em for a few minutes in the passenger seat.

Personally if I had the time and money, I'd just do a 2.4 swap and keep the thing. I just don't have either of those things. I'd really like to pass this on to an enthusiast who will love it as much as I do, and do something fun with it.

I'm asking $1200 pretty firm. This neon is a premium platform for that swap you've always wanted to do.

If the block has been rebuilt, why is the engine condition "poor?"

That would be because it won't start. And It's burning oil at about 1qt per 2 tanks of gas! I've checked the codes and addressed them, and still can't get it to start. Also it's an older motor. Seemed to me that 'poor' was appropriate.

All up there in that first post.

TTT for an awesome looking neon that I should bought...
That's a hell of a car just waiting for a new motor (or even a 2.4 swap)
No rust, nice tires and rims, Koni struts.

good luck selling it. Sorry I bought mine before I saw yours for sale.

what happened to the car on the front passenger side...as when you look at the pic of the front the passenger side headlight and parking light look brand new and the other ones are heavily discolored
