Default radiator fans not working

ive checked everything and they just wont turn on. however i dont have a relay for them. i never did. and im almost positive i dont need one because the pdc cover doesnt have a spot 4 one. i used a dual fan radiator not the stock single but i know the fans work becuase i wired them to the battery to make sure. i have a check engine light and it says radiator fan circuit short to ground or somethin like that and i wouldnt know where to look 4 a short. right now i have them wired to a switch 4 now but i dont kno where to look 4 the short.

if its the Neon in your sig. u have a solid state relay. its under the battery. and its like $40 new from Autozone. and that most likely would be your problem.

you would still have the solid state relay under the battery. if u just take out the battery or look at it from underneath its screwed into the frame directly under the battery.
