Default Question Throttle Body / Intake Manifold 99RT

This is my wife's car. Idle started going to zero. I got the idea to clean the throttle body and sensor. Very difficult to clean. Using the red straw on the can of cleaner, I shot the straw straight down into the manifold.

1. How screwed am I?
2. Can I run the car up to a garage five miles from here?
3. Is is possible for a guy like me with moderate knowledge to take off the intake manifold, clean it, retrieve the straw, and replace it?

Many thanks. I know this is a newb question. I really need help.

Thanks!

Well I dont know what type of guy you are but i belive you should be able to get the straw out yourself. it is about 13 - 10mm Bolts you will loose some coolent on the process and need a new gasket but look at it this way you will have a clean intake and TB. while you have it tore down you can replace the thermostat while your at it if it has been awhile since you replaced that, they are only a coupple bucks at any parts store.

You can do it. It isn't very difficult at all. Get you a Haynes or Chiltons manual to aid you in your effort.

Thanks for the encouragement. I actually could do this myself.
