what swap would be better?
Hey i'm alex and just joined the forum a couple of days ago and i was wondering what would be a better spend for me
i currently own a sohc 99 neon
i want to go boost and i've read that you can do a 2.0 dohc swap or a 2.4 srt/stratus with srt internals swap.
now which one would be worth my time i don't want crazy h/p shooting 250-300 tops and i've seen sohc civic doing that so yeah thanks for the input and ur personal opinion

thanks for the input guys as far as money goes i have a decent job i guess idon't have any bills to pay as off now and i can save some money so 700 a month could go torward the swap i didn't know if boosting the sohc would be a good idea right now it's slugish and it needs a new belts etc at 115xxx miles i'd thik it's a bad idea to go boost unless i can buy internals n Sh** for it theni would consider it really overall i guess i want a try srt4 but i guess i am just going to buy one in may so how about that 2.0 swap or a sohc turbo the h.p was a little 2 high as far as my wants are i guess 200 would be a little more in the area of the 2.0 on boost
Turbo has nothing to do with boost. I do not see why you can't make 250whp with the motor in your car right now for less than a grand.

you would be Very luck to make that much out a 2.4 (NA) much less a 2.0.
Turbo has nothing to do with boost??? ok.....
Anyways, even after doing a performance build from say Modernperformance (bottom end and top end), for around $2000-$2400. the 2.0L will only make close to 200-230HP i would say (depending on if its a SOHC or DOHC, SOHC closer to 200)

I was being dyslexic. Your swap has nothing to do with boost. Are you joking when you say you need a 3000$ engine build to make 200whp? You must not work with turbo systems very often. ****ty honda d-series can rap out 250whp no problem on their 1.5l's with pencil thick rods, so can these.
