I heard of people putting V8s in the old K cars, like Daytonas, but not a neon. To have a V8 front wheel drive installed, the tranny would be too tiny, the axles will be too small and the performance would suck since cars handle better 50/50 weight dist. and cars accelerate better at the rear wheels since weight transfer on acceleration goes to the rear.

Of course, if you're after V8 RWD conversion like the Kugel Ford Focus or the V8 Daytona's then weld in a four-link, narrow 9" rear, motor mounts and tranny mounts and throw in a new Hemi backed by a Tremec 6 spd.. Har Har Har

 

i would take a G8 anyday before a GXP....sweet and sexy..

i buddy of mine has a 97 or 98 neon with a small block decked out 400 in it...runs low 7's in the 1/4 miles

 

It's been done before....


V8 neons ARE NOT the quickest neons down the strip.

 

wouldnt the money be better spent in other ways since i would imagen this work would be time consuming and costly?
