hell mine whistles all the time and it doesnt give me any problems...
even the pcm in my old r/t whistled for the entire life of the car that i had it....120,000 miles...with no issues
well i heard it the first time after i got done handing a honda its dignity on the highway when i drove it home, i had the gauge far past 120 and still not touching redline and i came home parked it and heard a whistle and couldnt figure out where it was coming from. then a friend of mine told me that was where it was coming from. I thought that i was frying the computers one by one.
Well that is atleast good to know, so where did you find that info das? I don't know what .org you are refering to and it may just save a lot of time and energy from asking questions that have already been answered.
i had a neon and the car never whistled at me at all and my mom and sister have neons and we never had that problem is it new?
like i said, whistling from electronic components is generally indicative of a failure of a capacitor or something similar. doesn't necessarily mean its going to fail right away though. given chryslers reputation for denying everything that ever goes wrong with their engines, im not surprised by their response lol
both our 95's do it. and have done since we got them back in 95 and 96. and now their both well over 200,000 miles with the same whistling PCMs. and my 97 does it if i run it hard.

I would agree with the running hard thing, because with the new computer if I drive like I still had a Drivers Permit it never whistles. But then again I race about anything that has wheels for the sport... I beat a blue hair running on three cylinders on the way home from breaking down once...
