Default Oil in spark plug well/smoke out exhaust

On my way home from work a few weeks ago my 95 neon decided to start smoking out the exhaust, smelling very bad, and also running like ****. I got home an checked spark plugs and there was oil in at least one of the wells. So I'll be replacing the valve cover gaskets as well as the plug well o-ring seals. But would the smoke have been coming from that or do I have a whole seperate issue with that? Thanks

It could have been oil burning off the engine /plugs and the smoke running underneath

I would check your plugs as well. If they are black and wet then you got an oil foul prob. Pray that those gaskets fixed the leak..

i think the smoke is just the oil burning off of your plugs so look at them and see if there still good if not after you replace the gasket set replace your plugs and you should be good and it ran like crap cuz oil in the plugs not getting a good spark
