i haven't been on the forums in a while, but i had a slight misfortune today... i did a cylinder leakdown test and found out that my sohc head was cracked! SO...I just happen to have a dohc motor completely taken apart. I have the haed and cams and all, and the pcm...The pcm is what i am wondering about, I have a 96 mtx sohc...the other pcm i have is for a 98 atx dohc...after i do the dohc conversion, will my dohc pcm work? or does is have to be the same year and tranny? THANKS TO WHOEVER RESPONDS!!!

 

Tranny dont matter, but the rev limiter wont be as high. Plus a check engine light will be on. Year does. 95\96\97-99. There is a write up on how to change the harness to work. do you have the doch harness? i

 

yea, i have the entire engine harness from to dohc. what is different on the pcm's from the defferent set of years?

 

95 will not work as it only has one plug. 96 controls the rad fans differently than the 97-99 pcms.

The ATX PCM will trigger the CEL for the Lockup Torque Converter.
