My co worker's got a baby, with another one on the way... His GSX wont cut it for a baby hauler. It's a 92, with the 6 bolt engine, and the 4 bolt rear end. I'm told they're a desireable combonation. It's got 70k on it, no rust (from california), just got a clutch, and looks to be in pretty good shape. power windows and locks, and cruise. My neon needs a new trunk, but it's rust free otherwise... Got new a new clutch, headgasket, timing belt, water pump, tires, brakes, battery and an alternator...

He wants to trade straight up... I'm tempted due to the speed, but, I'm attached to the neon (plus it's the newest car i've ever owned)

Neon BB is like 1800, bb on his is like 2500...

Thoughts, opinions?

I personally wouldn't trade down for a car 7 years older. just parts that are 7 more years old that could break just due to it being 17 years old.

 

i absolutely HATE that style eclipse...they are just plain gross....
or.....
trade....sell the eclipse....buy another neon

 

my neon is a daily driven car with 160k on it, this eclise was a garage queen, and has been a dd for about two years

 

I would go with the BB value on this one good trade, sell it instatly and buy another neon with cash to spare. if you want to go this route be paitent because it may not work right away but someone will come and buy it.

its all wheel drive and turbo. correct? i would def take the trade if so. there is plenty of life in the DSM still. little more maitenence cuz of the turbo but the speed and extreme funness to drive are worth it

 

i would def. trade you should help em out and plus you will be getting a faster car or like they said trade then try selling it to buy another neon with extra cash to spare but its def. worth it on your part

 

its funny that you can get a stock neon sohc at 132hp
and an eclipse gsx 4g63t 2.0 dohc turbo at 125-145hp

 

www.cars.com is saying 195hp...

Is that incorrect information? If I'd buy this, I want to rape my cousins 95 eagle talon tsi, fwd...
