Not that anyone cares anyways, but the trans exploded last weekend. When he pulled the motor/trans, he noticed the trans isnt correct for the car, and where the casting number on the motor goes has been ground off...
He called the California DMV, and after paying for a history of ownership record or some crap, it turns out the car was confiscated from a chop shop in 98, and it was impounded untill 2002... Where could this car have sat for 4 years and not have gotten ruined is beond me, but...
It was re-titled with a rebuilt title in 2003. It was impounded on drug charges in 2005... It moved to WI in 2006, with a clear title... And it's changed hands 8 times since then...
Quite the history in the car, I am staying the hell away from it. It looks nice tho...
My cousins clutch went out again, which means the motor/trans is comming out again (this would be the 5th time if i'm not mistaken)
I replaced my alternator in the neon since this thread started, and I think my fuel pump is dying... Mucho easier then this DSM ****...

I would trade in a heartbeat for that. i didnt like the style at first but i became to love it. The info is correct it is a quick car. But if you dont no much about dsms, they do need work, i now to many people that have those cars they wish they never bought them because they dont understand the amount of work they require. My opinion: Take the deal have some awd turbo fun, sell it before it gets ****ed up, buy another neon or whatever you want.
