Default 95 SOHC, same as 98 SOHC?

I've got a lead on a cheap 95 SOHC engine, but I'm wondering if theres any differences between that and a 98 SOHC. I think theres some sensor differences, but, I dont have a clue about anything else. I'd beable to use the sensors off the '98 if there's any differences, but, I dont know.

Also, where is the fuel pump fuse located? I will be doing a compression test, and I dont really want to spray fuel everywhere.

195 PSI is the usual spec for a sohc right?
Tks

The pcv is different, bearings, rods, crank are different (notch's). The camshaft has more power then the 96-99. It has like 3hp gain. Intake manifold, valve cover, intake manifold, I think the egr. I believe there are 5 sensors different between the 95 and 97. Sorry to hear about what happened with the neon. Makes me sad to hear about it. Motors around here run 150-200 at the local junk yards, keep that in mind.

195 psi? compression? well I think between 165-185 should be normal on used motor.

i kinda figured you'd be sad about it, I'm bummed about it too. I changed it out in the parking lot with a sensor that I brought (advance gave me the wrong one, wtf?) Stopped leaking, checked the oil every few gas stations and it was fine... If you travel twords french island you'll see a big oil slick before the offramp. That's where the dash lit up and then it immediatly went through a death rattle before I could pull over.

Anyways, would it bolt up to the 98 trans, and would the 98 ECU beable to run it?

Would the sensors I need to take off the old engine and put on the new one be in the same location as the old one? (IE would I have to modify the origional harness to everything connected?)
Any idea which sensors I would need to change?

If you buy the 95 motor. It will bolt right up, as long as you keep your 98 motor for donor manifold, sensors, and so on. You should be fine. Off the top of my head I can not think of any issues. pvc you will not be able to change, but it will still work in the car.

You will need to use the 98 harness and ecu. Btw.

95 and 96-99 have different notch's for the bearings. I had the issues when I was rebuilding my sohc/dohc engine.
