my car is a 02 se 2.0 sohc and i was wondering..

ok, so i just got a text from a friend of mine with a neon, he may have a tranny and a engine that is off of a 96 se.... what EXACTLY is the difference between the two blocks and trannys?? trannys i know are a different gear ratio, but i need specifics... can i use a first gen block in my 02? is it just a matter of changing sensors? what will i need to get this to run propberly? or even can i get it to work properly? i can get them both very cheap..... all i want them for is to get the block built and tranny built for my car...

The engine will work, tranny will not work without alot of modification. You will need egr block off, and 2nd gen valve cover on it. Then just switch all sensors, hoses, clips, brackets over.

 

what is different about the trannys??? i thought they were just geared differently?

i ride, same block as a 96 eclipse??? i have one with a blown head gasket at my house?

my head has been changed from a 96 neon, i just made a block off plate, working good for the last 4 years...

 

i dont know about the tranny but i know you need a 96 computer i dont think you can use your old 1
