What's Wrong with this Picture
Atco is a drag stip.... but i was looking over that site you gave me and it says there is a rally track in Atco new jersey except im not to sure where... but like can i use any car i want and is there a way to get like sponsored or do you have to pay all of it out of your own pocket ??? im new to all this stuff..
Now you are talking racing - Rally is the Cats Meow to racing - I was planning on doing some Rally with my 97 Neon -but decided to stay in Club Racing with it for one more year will I prep my 01 ACR for next year.
You will need to download the GCR to determine what class your car is in - I run Show Room Stock - so I can not make any mods to the Car except the what is required for Safety - Like Racing Seat, harnes, Window Net, Roll Cage, and fire extinguisher. you can go into IT (Improved Touring) class where you can make mods - but I figure that could be expensive. My Neon is in a group refered to as SSC (Showroom Stock C Class) so I am racing against Mini Coopers, Honda Civics, Nissan 200SX, Toyota Celica, Saturns, and of course other Neons as well as a few other make/model of cars.
I do pay for my racing out of my own pocket - but luckily my local Dodge Dealers Parts Department is into racing - so I get discounts on parts and a lot questions answered when working on my Neon. Of course - they are always asking questions like can we make this modifcation and see if it will go faster?? Dodge/Mopar has contignecy programs as well as some of the Tire Manufactures - its not much, but it really does help and its nice to know you have some backing on the racing - Dodge pays a few bucks for Poduim finishes. Khumo gives you Khumo Dollars toward purchase towards new Tires - and the Khumo Team is great to work with - they are very knowledgeable and supportive of racing!

i c that does sound kind of fun.. what is the difference between rally racing and club racing ?? wether or not your stock or modified ?? maybe when i get some cash i can try it cuz right now im broke.... except for my money for an SRT-4 (which will never be spent lol) [sm=lockeddance.gif]
im going to have to look into this more in the future cuz it really does sound interesting.

Hi RayDog26 - Club racing is on a close course - Rally racing is more like on and off road racing. Rally is more Extreme Racing. in Club Racing you do a running start just like Nascar, Rally racing is against the clock - similiar to Solo Racing. All racing will be divided up into groups according to make/model/mods - when you get into mods - that can get very expensive!

Hi lblackneon - My 01 ACR and my 96 are both in SSC classs - this is the last year for my 96 to race - the show room stock class race cars have a race life of 10 years - after that they are no longer elgible for SSC class - however I could move the car into ITA or ITB class - I don't remember which - but they have a longer race life there and you are allowed to make more modifcations - but then you get up against people that have money that have there engines ported, balanced, and blue printed and you might find yourself struggle to keep up with those speed freaks! for my small race budget - I picked SSC to compete in.

I have read that it is doable - so I have a SOHC engine in a car that I got free and I have a DOHC that has a nice softball size hole in the side of the block - so as a proj - I will this weekend put the DOHC Head onto the SOHC block and see if it will work - I could use a spare engine!
Do you know that it will not work? I have read conflicting stories - but no one say for sure - I figure I will take pictures and post them during the rebuild this weekend!
If I run into a issue - I figure I can post questions and pictures and get some really good feedback and input - this forum is a very good resource for information
