'96 Fuel System or Engine Problem?
My '96 Neon has been in and out of the shop recently. I've had the radiator, tie rod, breaks, and rotors replaced. Also the power steering and alternator belts were tightened. There are no vacuum leaks and the head gasket was already replaced a few years ago, of course...lol. Now the current problem is that my car dies on slow turns and when I am coming to a stop, or even when I am sitting at a stop light. When I am coming to a stop, my car will begin to shake fairly violently around 10 mph and then die. I can restart my car only if I give it gas, but I have to press the accelerator pretty agressively and fairly constantly...so I don't believe it's electrical. But now its becoming harder and harder to restart my car and seems to be dying more frequently. The last time my car was in the shop, the mechanic said it didn't throw up any codes or anything. I added some fuel injector cleaner when I filled up, but it hasn't helped at all. I'm still really hoping that this is my fuel pump, a clogged fuel filter or something rather than my engine. Anyone have any ideas?
