Chill factory kit $ 3500+...... SRT 4 Engine, Tranny, ECU, Turbo, ect ....... $2500 - $3000 !!!!!! I wonder whch is a better deal. [sm=wtf.gif]

In my opinion its a toss up. Performance parts are a lot cheaper for the neon than the srt. I am not knocking the srt motor at all, but with the lighter 2.0, you can do pretty good. Either is a good choice.

okay sombody asked why would you mess with the sohc 2.0 when you can just drop the srt-4 motor in it. Uhh...because...he wants a sleeper...remember?? and did you forget about the first gen dohc 2.0?? THAT will drop in...easier than a 2.4 anyway. I can get one right now for 300 bucks with a 30 day warrenty....300 bucks and about 2000 worth of aftermarket....2300 bucks....to have a better performing motor?? sounds good to me....manciniracing.com....they are strictly mopar and they race neons.....not srt-4s or 2.4l motors...true neons. The neons have over 30 racing titles since thier debute....in other words...they got along just fine off those 2.0's

you want to run a stock sleeper or not, that is the first question you should figure out. im running stock, and with a few small mods under the hood, you would be amazed at the diffrence, i too am on a tight budget, i got a 95 neon that took me 2 days to drive it 47 miles! I made friends and in no time had it swapped with a 03 neon....there is something to be said for a base production moddel with a newer motor!! but i did not inspect it as i should have, and threw a rood through the piston and the watter jacket, so i was forced to re-build the 95 block...on a 200$ budget. go to crane cams,upgrade the fuel pump and injectors, shave the block level with the tdc of the piston, then your going to have to up the compresion ratio, move the battery to the trunk, put the intake filter where the battery is(20$ for intimidator air filter @ walmart), put a small scoop in the hood, and is it a sohc, or a dohc, and when you are on a buget, you have to find the perfect ballence between safe and insane. and the most important thing to remember is that the suggested use on a pakage for something is just that: only a sugustionl. I will quote Carrol Shelby to leave "the mechanics being produced by todays world are much better, they grew up with nothing, so they had to learn to improvise, and do it them selfs, and because of that they have experience beyond any text book."

One small problem with that Novel up there.... why would anyone put money into Wal-Mart (Performance) parts???
