Exclamation Dumb question?

What is the best way to remove and reinstll the accessory drivebelts(powersteering a/c and alternator) step by step would be helpful! thanks! btw does the shift **** twist off? i cant get it loose, i wwant to install my short shifter but i cant get th **** off! thanks again!

Loosen the bolts for the ps pump. They are on the on the other side of the bracket. I think 2 of them. The power steering pump will move so you can remove that belt. The alternator you will need to loosen the bolt that points towards the fender (maybe 14mm). Then turn the bolt on the back of the shield that facing towards the fire wall. That will slowly loosen the alternator so the belt can be removed.

the p.s. pump has 2-13mm bolt and 1-15mm bolt that hold it in place and the alternator has 2-15mm bolts and a 13mm tension bolt

Default Belts

I assume you do not have a Haynes or Chilton manual. so the easiest thing to do is go to the AUTOZONE website, register (it is free) and then use their repair info guides (lots of text and pictures).

thank you very much! now i can have my ac and ps back! (both belts flew off on the freeway)
