air conditioner blower not working?

replacing the blower motor should be pretty easy... you don't have to be certified or anything for it...if you started doing much more then that with the ac then yeah you would want to take it to a shop..

haynes and chilton say to cut the wheel housing silencer with a utility knife inline with the wiring... what is the silencer? i dont want to cut the wrong thing and i cant find anything on google about it.

ok, i got it off and i dont see any shorts so i guess i need a new blower motor. i did not have to cut anything... is the wheel housing silencer optional and not on my car perhaps?

had autozone test it to be sure and it started after a bit, it was difficult to turn but i cleaned it off and it is better. installed it and it blows but makes a horrible squealing sound every now and then. ideas? at least i have a/c for the summer

A bushing/bearing possibly.

the motor is shot it needs replacement... it might last all summer or it could last 5mins... the bushings in the motor are shot there is no rebuilding it... you can run it and deal with the squealing or replace it... either way your going to have to replace it soon anyway...

ok, thanks for the heads up. at least it isnt going to be an expensive fix.
