Default Compatibility?

I've got a 98 2.0 DOHC that i am building and i want to do it right, I looked in the FAQ's and their was not sufficent info on how to or if possible to use the srt4 tranny on a 1st gen. I've heard that the block on a 2.4 and 2.0 are the same so it will bolt on? Im worried about clearence, mounts and mounting Master cylinder, also if can use their cv axles or can i use the one for a 1st gen? Any info would be helpful thanks!

The heads on a N/A 2.0 and 2.4 are the same. How could the block be the same for a 2.0 and a 2.4? The 1st gen tranny will bolt up to the SRT engine. The SRT tranny has fitment issues in the 1st gen.

Use a 1st gen 3.94 tranny if you want better acceleration.

I don't know anybody that has done it, so I can't say for sure.
