add .flv to the link to view it.

Can the above chipped piston cause valve/valve stem seal to be damaged?
There was no apparent damage to bottom of head surface from the piston though.
It is the same cylinder with the oil leak problem.

If you have a dent on the piston you hit a valve. What else could it have been? It wont touch the head, but the valves sit lower. You do a compression check?

looks to me like detonation damage. Was this on a turbo or nitrous engine? It looks to close to the side to be a valve crash.

What's the oil leak problem you speak of??

Compression holds at like 155 psi, yet oil is dumped into cylinder and burns like crazy, especially high revs and WOT. headgasket, resurfacing, headbolts are all taken care of. I don't know how or how long the engine was ran with detonation, the guy I bought it from (from another state) refused to respond after selling me it so its hard to tell what went on inside. Engine rebuild included piston rings(honed block),new bearings, gaskets everywhere(except valve seals)..Theres a shop that will do just the two intake valve seals for me like Wed so I'll see how that goes but I'd like to get other valves if thats the case...

EDIT:Can a valve only be replaced with the head off or can it come up through the top?

Alright well I'll have them try to see if its bent when they do the seal. Will the seal still hold up on a bent one, until I can get another head?

well, you already got the head out, you might as well replace the valve...it's pretty cheap...I think under $10 a valve.
