Default adjusting the timing

does this look like a decent deal? i just talked to the guy over the phone and he seemed legit enough.. i will have to tow it 2 1/2 hours worth, so keep that in mind.

how much will the timing cost at most? thanks

I would maybe do 600 tops for that car. Maybe 625 with the baller spinners. Dohc which is nice, but there is an issue with the head it sounds like. Or the timing is way off.

so my friend says he can do it, though hes never done it before.. he has the strobe timer etc.

im thinking im going to let him try and do it, and roll up in a u-haul just in case he cant get it going..

anyone done it before on neon like this? are there anywhere i can grab instructions?

edit: i called him and he said he replaced/repaired the blown headgasket and other ****(it should say it completely in the description), and that he had a mechanic come over and say the timing was off.. that 600 sounds about right, i was wondering why he was letting it go for so cheap. all he says needs done to it is the timing done and a new battery.

thanks for your input iride

you don't need a timing light to time it... you need to pull the timing belt of line up all the timing marks and put the timing belt back on...
