Default srt4 exhaust on 1g

Well i want to know the process of sticking a srt4 exhaust on my 97 neon dohc 4dr. If any one has any knowledge of it please let me know

the whole exhaust?
or just the end section with the dual tips?

basically, the only thing you would be able to use is the rear section......
cut a few inches off of the end of the pipe, weld (or clamp) a straight 6" piece of pipe onto it....then weld some new hangers onto the pipe so you can use the stock hanger locations on the car......
but, it will be loud and kinda raspy sounding with it on there....it will sound just the same as if you took your muffler off

it will be loud and sound like crap... its just pipe no muffler or anything... try finding an exhaust off an 2nd gen r/t it has the nice dual outlets and a muffler that flows pretty decent... otherwise any of the aftermarket exhaust will work too... the srt exhaust just isn't worth the effort its just pipe and tips...

The 1G dohc muffler (though not as flashy) flows very well up to 175whp. The 2G r/t muffler is not a direct bolt on, and will require some fabrication.

thanks guys. Stuck it on today and yeah sounds horrid. Just gonna stick my ebay axel back on again at least i could talk on the phone with it.

neither is the srt exhaust he was planing to install... take the same amount of work to get the 2nd gen r/t exhaust on there so i was giving him a better option then the srt4 exhaust
