Default Fuel system cleaner

I was at the part store today looking at the fuel system and injector cleaners and i didn't really know what to buy or how well it would work. and the people there aren't much of a help. so i figured i would ask here. my dad said he was told that injector cleaner could cause clogs cuz it breaks down the carbon and stuff but he said ask some one else cuz he ain't to sure about that.
can any one help me out ??

I live and die by SeaFoam, IMO best stuff out there. I add a can every oil change and havent ever had a fuel problem yet, (well there was the one time when i was changing the fuel filter and those stupid fittings they have on the Dodge fllters didnt completly grab).

Interesting you mention SeaFoam - I understand you can use it in many ways - you can add to fuel to clean the system - or you can add it to your engine oil to clean from that way as well - Have you tried adding it to you oil?? curious what kind of results you get. I am in the process of rebuilding my engine - I am amazed how much carbon build up there was! The pic on top is my Piston from the engine and the piston on the bottom is a brand new piston

I have not heard of anything going wrong - I always questioned the use of Engine Cleaners - most are oil thinners and they suggest that you run your engine for a few minutes with the cleaner and then immediately change your oil - I always questioned it since you ran it thru your engines - does it not leave any residue?
