Default Is it possible...

for my (into cylinder)oil leak to be sending a bad signal to my o2 giving me poor mileage? Two of my o2 wires got ripped off and no CEL since two others are connected, but I haven't fixed them and swear I'm getting better mileage. Gas prices have gone up 50 cents+ and its still seems better.

That weird that your not getting a cel, the wires that got ripped off could be the heating wires that pre heat the 02 sensor, I know on the 2gens it would cause the cel to come on. Better gas mileage?? Dont see how that possible with the sensors not doing what they are suppose to do. Maybe your foot just isnt in it as much lol. Thats kinda wierd

what year is your Neon? on my 95's with both o2 sensors disconnected I wouldn't throw any CEL codes and get the same fuel mileage.... on my 97s on the other hand, disconnect one and all hell breaks loose.

got it today, which took forever compared to last time i didnt have the o2 hooked up. Does it go to a standard A/f ratio once it knows the o2 isn't working?

if your o2 sensors were unhooked your car would run really rich giving you a worse mpg.at least thats the way it was on my old 99 neon
