Is it tru that a 1 gen. neon wit a 2.4L swap can beat a stock SRT-4 in a 1/4 mile? theres a few guys where i live that believe they can becuz of the weight difference...

 

stock SRT-4 yes... its plain to see same motor=same power only difference is the power in the 1st gen when you have a coupe especially, has to move alot less weight... mod the srt and then no

 

do you mean a srt 2.4 or just a 2.4 out of a stratus or pt cruiser

 

All 2.4L engines are very similar in power output. The turbo application changes things of course. A srt powerplant in a 1G neon will be faster than a srt, as the 1G neon is lighter = faster. Modifications gets to be a grey area.

Agreed....no way it wins. What you add with a 2.4L engine is more torque, not necessarily more HP.
